How this forecast works
Two NOAA feeds drive the verdict. The Ovation Prime model maps the aurora's probability across the globe every few minutes; we read the cells within about 100 km of you. The planetary Kp forecast says how hard Earth's magnetic field will be driven over the next two days. Your latitude sets the bar: Tromsø sees aurora at Kp 1, Edinburgh needs about Kp 5, and the further from the pole you live, the bigger the storm you need.
